Our categories

System Strengthening Award

VSO Volunteers nominated under system strengthening work with government ministries, civil society and local partners to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of institutions or systems that deliver services to primary actors.

System Strengthening Finalists

Active Citizenship Award

VSO Volunteers nominated under the Active Citizenship category work directly with people in the community, rather than with governments, to give them agency and influence in decision-making spaces, and to help them develop locally-led solutions.
